Changes With This Version
3.1.2
- Installs properly into Classroom Suite version 4.
- Supports Macintosh and Windows versions of BoardMaker 6
- Installer fixes for Windows Vista and Macintosh 10.5
3.1.0
- Now supports creating key content (actions) for the five IntelliSwitch switches. IntelliKeys uses Switch One and Switch Two.
- Added a [Delay] key action (under the Other category) that will produce a delay of 1 second between key actions.
- Fixed some new button styles in the IntelliTools Classroom Suite "Make Overlay" feature which were not being saved in Overlay Maker 3.
- Added 32 mouse key actions for emulating a USB mouse with 8 buttons.
- Added 10 new switch presetchoices, similar to the IntelliKeys USB and IntelliSwitch.
- Brackets can now be used in key content, e.g. the shortcut keystroke "Control+ ]".
- Fixed a printing crash on OS 9
- Export to Dynavox pictures will display at 800x600 so that they will display correctly when imported to the DynaVox.
- BoardMaker library of symbols shown in Overlay Maker 3 now includes user-created symbols.
- Fixed a printing bug where some BoardMaker symbols printed with a white background instead of the Overlay Maker 3 background color.
3.0.1
* Application was updated to support Trial and Player versions.
1 – Overlay Maker 3 changes the icon for previous versions of Overlay Maker
When Overlay Maker 3 is installed, overlays created in previous versions
of Overlay Maker will have the same new Overlay Maker 3 icon.
2 - Opening overlays created in previous versions of Overlay Maker
Overlays created in previous versions of Overlay Maker can be opened in Overlay
Maker 3. However, files saved in Overlay Maker 3 cannot be opened in previous
versions of Overlay Maker -- you will see a message "unexpected file
format" or the older version Overlay Maker Mac will open with a blank
overlay.
3 - Using Make Overlay feature with older
tools
The Make Overlay feature can still be used with older versions of the tools,
however the new Make Overlay wizard is not available. The new Make Overlay
wizard is available with IntelliTools Classroom version 3.0.3 or higher (see
item 5 below).
4 - Documentation is installed with Overlay
Maker 3.
The electronic documentation for Overlay Maker 3 is located in the
Documentation folder on the CD and the Overlay Maker 3 Documentation folder on
the hard drive. To view these files, you will need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader.
If you do not have this program installed, open the program in the
Documentation folder on the CD called "Acrobat Reader Installer" and
follow the steps for installation.
5 - Using Classroom Suite with Overlay Maker
3
Overlay Maker 3 installs several Classroom Suite activities as part of the
Overlay Maker Activity Kits. You must have Classroom Suite installed to
use the Activity kits. To learn how to purchase IntelliTools Classroom Suite,
please visit our web site: www.intellitools.com
6 - Installing Activity Kits to a network
Please read the Using Overlay Maker 3 with Classroom Network Version.pdf found
in the Utilities folder on the Overlay Maker 3 CD.
Macintosh Accessibility Issues
1 - Uninstall issue
After running the Overlay Maker 3 Uninstaller, you can Trash the Overlay Maker 3 folder, if you have no further need of the user created overlays.
2 - Intermittent Save button when using
Overlay Maker 3 with older versions of the tools
When using the "Make Overlay" feature with older tools on Macintosh
and Overlay Maker 3, the Save button does not consistently become active. The
workaround is to use Save As and navigate to the correct overlays folder to
save the file.
3 - Opening overlays created on Windows
To open overlay files on a Mac that were created on Windows, you will not be
able to double-click. Instead, go to the File menu, and select Open to navigate
to your overlay file to open it in Overlay Maker 3 Mac.
4 - Overlay Maker 3 icon replaces the
Overlay Maker 2 icon
On Mac OS 9 and 8.6, the icon for older versions of Overlay Maker may be changed
to the new Overlay Maker 3 icon.
Overlay Sender can be used to send overlays to the IntelliKeys keyboard. It can send older overlays, and Overlay Maker 3 overlays.
Overlay Sender 3 may be freely distributed if its use is not for profit. Call IntelliTools for commercial licensing information. 1-707-773-2000
Information Not Included in Manual (10/2004)

2 - Selecting Show Picture Library from the View menu will display a subset of the Overlay Maker 3 Picture Library. For more pictures, select the Picture Library button on the standard toolbar or select Insert Picture from Library under the Edit menu.
